NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Even though we haven’t started this season yet, the hot topic’s been Anthony Davis changing agents, and what it could mean for his future with the Pelicans. However, the superstar forward said it was strictly a personal decision, and there’s not much more to take from it.
“It was just for where I am right now in my career, and what I’m trying to do. I thought the change was necessary. That’s all it was. I’m just trying to be the most dominant player in the league,” said Anthony Davis.
“My opinion is that we have to put the best team out on the floor. We have to try make AD the best player that he could possibly be. We’ve got to try to be successful as a franchise. Then, if we do all of that, then all of the other stuff takes care of itself,” said Pels Head Coach Alvin Gentry.
As far as Davis physically, he’s put on more muscle, but hopefully he’s mixed in a steady dose of cardio with his lifting, because believe it or not, coach Gentry says he wants this team to play even faster than their league leading pace from a year ago.
