NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - As a potential change could be coming to your electric bill, multiple committees met Tuesday to discuss energy in New Orleans.
The meeting is a public forum with officials hearing from residents who share concerns about the future of the city and energy usage.
This comes before a resolution from Entergy New Orleans, which will be on the docket Thursday.
Entergy originally proposed a rate hike which would impact Algiers residents by about $22 a month. The revised proposal would change that rate hike to $3 with the company still able to decrease its overall electric revenue by $20 million.
The smart and sustainable cities, public works, and utilities committees all spoke about ways to create more sustainable energy and mimic other cities who accomplished that feat.
