NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -Questions about the new terminal at the Louis Armstrong International Airport could be answered Wednesday.
The Transportation and Airport Committee will meet to provide an update on the multi-million dollar project.
The agenda itself is pretty vague, but Airport Director Kevin Dolliole earlier this week spoke about one of the issues they encountered.
Dolliole said a sagging sewer line was discovered underneath the almost finished terminal, which if it hadn’t been found, would have caused massive problems and reconstruction for the terminal.
The sewer line would have likely caused the bathrooms at the terminal to be unusable.
Dolliole said luckily they found the problem before the concrete was laid over the line.
“It’s fortunate that we were pro-active as we were going through construction and finished laying that pipe all the way through,” Dolliole said. “It runs the length of the terminal facility on the north side.”
The meeting will be held at 2 p.m. at City Hall and will be open to the public.
