NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - There will be a couple of bouts of rain this week. The first round arrives on Tuesday and will be mostly light and confined to the coast. Rain chances will be lowest north of Lake Pontchartrain. A break on Wednesday with mainly a lot clouds and a few late day patches of rain possible.
On Thursday, a strong area of low pressure will move across the area bringing rain and a few storms. Some of the storms will have gusty winds and locally heavy rain. This area of low pressure will be what is left of Hurricane Willa in the Pacific.
Drier and cooler weather arrives Friday and will last into the weekend.
