NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - In this edition of FFF we examine the recruiting battle LSU and Alabama are waging over Amite, some soccer stars are tardy while they watch other soccer stars play, and a visit to the new restaurant Picnic.
There’s a ton on the line this weekend when Alabama visits LSU. The SEC West, a bid in the College Football Playoff, and some recruiting battles could be resolved for the winner of this contest.
The Tide and the Tigers both have their eyes on Amite, and for good reason. The Warriors' Ishmael Sopsher is the top defensive lineman in the country.
His teammate, Devonta Lee, is considered the sixth-best athlete in the country. Lee excels as a wide receiver and a safety on defense.
Nick Saban and Ed Orgeron have met up with the two on numerous occasions. They know Lee and Sopsher are two special talents.
“It’s a battle. Amite is the first school I go to. I’ve been to Amite already. It’s an area we have to capture. We’re in a battle, that’s all I can say,” said Ed Orgeron.
Many in the recruiting business believe one game can’t change a kids mind on where they will play next year, but in this case, an LSU win could change everything. The Tigers can finally show they’re back in the national rankings for good, and that Coach O is a stable coach for the near future.
Right now, both Lee and Sopsher are leans to LSU, but that could all change on one weekend. It’s time for the Tigers to show Amite and the country, it’s an elite program once again.
One of the best soccer players in the world is Paris St-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe. Well, he was benched for his team’s matchup with Marseille this past weekend.
So why would his squad do such a thing. Mbappe showed up late to a team meeting because he was watching Real Madrid play Barcelona in El Clasico.
Has this dude heard of DVR?! I’ve heard some zingers in my day, but this is pretty weak.
Mbappe did get off the bench halfway through the second half. Of course, he scored.
I’ve eaten a ton of fried chicken sandwiches in my day, but I might have had the best one at Picnic recently.
Picnic is Reginelli’s Pizza and Commander’s Palace joining forces. Executive chef Tory McPhail concocted this insanely tasty sandwich.
It’s the crawfish boil hot fried chicken sandwich. Double stacked light and dark meat, mirliton dill pickles, butter steamed brioche, lemon mayo, topped with Crystal hot sauce.
It’s a game-changer, and it’s only $12.
