Police investigate homicide in New Orleans East

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating a fatal shooting in the East.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired Thursday at 6:50 p.m. in the 4600 block of Lancelot Drive.

They found an adult male with gunshot wounds to the head and chest, according to a report issued by NOPD.

The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

There are no further details available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine an official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
