JPSO: Man killed in Metairie shooting

Crimetracker investigation

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A man was fatally shot inside a Metairie apartment complex Sunday night (Nov. 18), according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto.

The shooting was reported in the 100 block of Raspberry Street, near the 17th Street Canal. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, Lopinto said, inside a one-bedroom apartment in the Raspberry Lane Apartments complex.

The victim was found alone in the apartment, Lopinto said. As of Sunday night, investigators had not identified the victim and did not know if he was a resident of the complex.

“This is normally a pretty quiet area along Lake Avenue,” Lopinto said during a news conference at the scene. “But we don’t like to have murders anywhere.”

After a man died in a Metairie shooting on Raspberry Street, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto offered known details Sunday night.
