Woman robbed in French Quarter after getting separated from friends
The New Orleans Police Department is investigating an armed robbery in the French Quarter Friday afternoon.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating an armed robbery in the French Quarter Friday afternoon.

Police say the robbery happened near corner of Bienville Street and Bourbon Street.

According to the victim, she and a group of friends were walking on Bourbon St. around 12:40 p.m when she got separated from the group. The victim turned on Bienville St. and was approached from behind by the suspect. The suspect put an object in the victim’s right side and demanded her property. The victim complied and the suspect fled with her wallet in an unknown direction.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male between 5’11 and 6 feet tall. He has long dreadlocks and was seen wearing a gray or green camouflage jacket with white pockets.
