NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Minnesota was playing on the second night of a back-to-back, and the Pelicans were riding a three-game winning streak. That appeared to be a recipe for a New Orleans win, but they fell short on the road, 110-106.
The contest was all knotted up at 103 with three minutes to go, but a Karl-Anthony Towns three moved the game to Minnesota’s favor. New Orleans would never recover, and dropped to 20-23 on the season.
Anthony Davis finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds. Jrue Holiday chipped in with 25 points.
On the winning side, Towns finished with 27 points and a career-high 27 rebounds.
The Pelicans continue their road trip with a Monday game against the Clippers. Tip is scheduled for 9:30 p.m.
