Lucky number 13? Why yesterday’s date may have fated The Saints win

Deuce McAllister and Sean Fazende breakdown the Saints' playoff win over the Eagles

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The number 13 isn’t always associated with luck, but did it play a part in The Saints win Sunday?

The number may be bad luck for some, but the most prolific offensive weapon wore the number on his back last night on the same date that The Saints beat The Eagles to advance to The NFC Championship in 2007.

That date? January 13th.

The Saints mounted an 18-play, 92-yard drive in the third quarter, ending with a Brees to #13 Michael Thomas 2-yard touchdown. The connection gave the Saints their first lead of the game, 17-14.

The comeback gave the team the momentum they needed to score 20 unanswered points against the then-defending Super Bowl champs.

Call it superstition, call it fate, but it seems the number 13 is only unlucky for The Eagles.
