Teen accused of brutally beating Youth Study Center counselor due in court
A New Orleans grand jury on Thursday (Oct. 25, 2018) indicted Mikeise Jefferson, 16, on a charge of attempted first-degree murder in the Sept. 2 attack of a 39-year-old male counselor, who suffered a head wound that required medical staples, prosecutors said.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -A teenager accused of brutally beating a counselor at The Youth Study Center is due in court Monday.

A grand jury indicted 16-year-old Mikeise Jefferson on an attempted first-degree murder charge.

Investigators said he barricaded himself inside an office at the center on September 1.

When counselors attempted to remove Jefferson, he allegedly threw urine on one person and brutally beat another.
