NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -A warm-up begins today as sunshine finally returns to the area. Highs will reach the upper 50s today and the mid 70s by Friday and Saturday.
A stray shower or two is possible Thursday and Friday, but our best chance for rain comes Saturday afternoon with a good chance for rain and a few thunderstorms.
Details on the timing and intensity will become more clear later this week. Behind the rain will be a major Arctic front that could bring the coldest temperatures this winter.
Temperatures for Saints Sunday may struggle to hit 40 degrees with wind chills in the 20s and 30s. Winds may gust as high as 40 mph during the day on Sunday. A hard freeze is possible north of the lake next Monday morning with a light freeze possibility for the metro area. Folks should prepare accordingly.
