MAYOR: New NOPD superintendent to be sworn in Friday
Superintendent Ferguson has been with the NOPD for 21 years.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell said that the swearing in ceremony for Commander Shaun Ferguson as the new chief of police will be held Friday at Gallier Hall.

The ceremony will also include the final inspection of Superintendent Michael Harrison, who is retiring for a new job in Baltimore.

Street closures will begin at 8:30 a.m. St. Charles Ave. from Poydras St. to Girod St., and N. Maestri St. from Camp St. to St. Charles Ave. The roads will open at 10 a.m.
