Huey P. Long Bridge reopens after 3-hour-long shutdown

UPDATE: The bridge reopened shortly before 8 p.m., according to Causeway Police, roughly 3 hours after being closed.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Traffic going both directions on the Huey P. Long Bridge was closed Monday afternoon (Jan. 21), according to the Department of Transportation and Development.

According to Causeway Police Department officials, the traffic was blocked because of a person threatening to jump from the bridge. No further information was immediately available.
