NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured in a crash while escorting a vehicle away from the Superdome Sunday evening (Jan. 20), according to JPSO spokesman Glenn Boyd.
Boyd said the deputy was on a motorcycle around 6:27 p.m. when another driver ran through an intersection, crashing into the bike. The deputy was brought to the hospital with “moderate injuries," and will recover, Boyd said. As of Sunday night, the deputy was listed in stable condition.
No further information was immediately available, including the exact location of the crash. It was not known Sunday night if any citations had been issued and the deputy’s name had not been released.
