Hit-and-run driver arrested for I-10 East crash that damaged Veterans Blvd overpass, LSP says

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -Louisiana State Police have arrested a suspect accused of a hit-and-run crash that damaged the Veterans Boulevard overpass on I-10 East.

The crash damaged the bridge and closed eastbound lanes for seven hours and westbound lanes for over two hours on Jan. 9, according to LSP.

According to the report, troopers obtained an arrest warrant on Monday for Brandon A. Eserman, 35 of Marrero in connection with the incident.

Troopers said Eserman turned himself in Friday.

He was transported to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center and charged with hit-and-run, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, negligent injuring, suspended driver’s license, no insurance, and fraudulent inspection certificate.
