Alford’s three-year deal was announced by the Cardinals Thursday. He joins a team anchored by another cornerback with Louisiana ties in Patrick Peterson.

The 30-year-old spent his first six seasons in Atlanta, tallying 10 interceptions and 85 passes defensed. He returned a pick 82 yards for a score in Super Bowl LI against the Patriots.

He will get to play in the Superdome again this season as the Cardinals are slated to visit the Saints.
