NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Firefighters in Harvey battled a fire outside of an apartment complex Sunday morning.
According to officials, members of the Harvey Volunteer Company #2 were called to the complex in the 2100 block of Manhattan Boulevard at 8:12 a.m. When they arrived at the scene, they spotted flames on the exterior of a three-story apartment building.
Firefighters quickly worked on the fire containing the damage to one unit and the exterior of the building.
Officials say about 24 families have been displaced by the fire due to the lack of electricity. Red Cross was called in to help assist families affected by the fire.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
