NOPD: Motorcyclist killed in I-10 crash

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A man died after crashing his motorcycle on I-10 Sunday night (Feb. 10), according to New Orleans police.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the man was driving west on an elevated portion of the interstate when he crashed into a guardrail, flipped over it and landed on the ground level near South Galvez Street, according to NOPD. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

As of Monday afternoon, the crash remained under investigation and a cause was not known. The victim’s name and age also remained unknown Monday.

NOPD initially reported the crash near the intersection of I-10 and South Carrollton Avenue, but later updated the location.

At or around 9:06 p.m., NOPD Traffic Fatality Investigators responded to a call of an accident with injury near I-10 West and South Galvez Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim was involved in a single vehicle crash at the location.

No further information was immediately available.
