NOPD: 2 wanted after man beaten, choked during French Quarter robbery

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are searching for two men accused of beating, choking and robbing a man in the French Quarter last month (Jan, 31).

Henry Johnson, 21, and Michael Hansel, 23, are wanted on warrants with one charge each of purse snatching and simple battery, according to NOPD.

According to police, the two men attacked a 35-year-old man from behind shortly after 2:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Dumaine Street. The victim told police one of the men put him in a chokehold and when he became to lose consciousness, both started punching him. Police said the men grabbed the victim’s bag and then ran away.
