Severe chances increase for Thursday

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The Storm Prediction Center has raised our risk of severe weather to a Level 3 out of 5 for Thursday. In addition they have outlined all of Southeast Louisiana and South Mississippi for “significant severe weather”. That is defined by the possibility of strong tornadoes (EF2 or stronger), thunderstorm winds of 75 mph or greater and 2 inch diameter hail (golf ball).

Stay with FOX 8 over the next 24 hours as the severe weather threat becomes more clear. The storms may begin as early as Thursday morning and continue into the afternoon hours.

The holiday weekend looks great. It will be windy and cooler on Friday. Lots of sun with cool mornings and mild days are expected for Saturday and Sunday.
