KROTZ SPRINGS, La. (AP) - City engineers will explore the possibility of connecting the North Wilderness subdivision to the Krotz Springs water system. Krotz Springs Mayor Carroll Snyder says engineers must ensure the city can handle the addition of about 120 customers from North Wilderness.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) - Soprano Katharine Dain and pianist Jeffrey Grossman will perform in a free concert April 27. The presentation will be at 2 p.m. at the Jefferson Parish East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie. The concert is sponsored by the Piatigorsky Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes classical music.

LEESVILLE, La. (AP) - The City Council has decided to take no action on two development projects until after a new mayor takes office at the end of June. The council tabled consideration of proposals for the University Parkway/Louisiana Highway 467 projects. Mayor Robert Rose lost his recent re-election bid for re-election; Rick Allen will take over June 30.

CHALMETTE, La. (AP) - St. Bernard Parish has a new community development director. Michael Albert replaces Candice Watkins, who left several months ago to become a disaster recovery specialist with the state Office of Community Development. Albert was previously a planner with the Guilford County Planning Department in Greensboro, N.C.
