Hornets decide not to renew Jones' contract

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Hornets have decided against keeping veteran forward Solomon Jones after his second 10-day contract expired.

The 6-foot-10 Jones played in 11 games for the Hornets, starting one. He has averaged 5.5 points and 3.7 rebounds for New Orleans.
Jones reached double figures in scoring in three of his last six games, including a season high 12 points and team-high nine rebounds in a loss last Saturday night to Indiana.

Jones also spent 10 games earlier this season with the Los Angeles Clippers. The move leaves the Hornets' roster at 13.
