Dawn Brown moved to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to be part of the history of rebuilding the Crescent City. Almost five years later, she’s very excited to join the FOX 8 Weather Team with the legendary Bob Breck.
After countless school talks and community meetings, Dawn has learned that when severe weather threatens this area, everyone wants to know what Bob Breck thinks.
Dawn is originally from Southern California, a small town called Ojai. A graduate of UCLA with a degree in Political Science, International Relations, Dawn went back to school for a meteorology degree through Mississippi State University.
A national championship rower at UCLA, Dawn’s hobbies include running, reading and weather. Every weekday, she writes a blog about the important weather story of the day. You can read her blog at

Besides her new job as a morning meteorologist at FOX 8 at 5am, Dawn is most excited about her fall wedding to a fellow meteorologist. She’s currently sewing her wedding dress. Everything will go as planned, as long as her dog, Mr. Quick, doesn’t decide to use it as his favorite blanket.
