FOX 8 Morning News reporter Evan Anderson thinks of New Orleans as his home away from home. Graduating from Dillard University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Mass Communication in 2008, Evan truly has a love for the city of New Orleans.
At Dillard, Evan was Managing Editor for the Dillard University student newspaper, The Courtbouillon, and President of the Dillard University Association of Black Journalists. But, it wasn’t until his first television newsroom internship at WDSU in 2006, when he learned of his love for broadcast news, and since then, it’s been full steam ahead.
Evan is no stranger to the FOX 8 newsroom. In 2007, Evan was Production Assistant and Assignment Editor before leaving to purse his on-air career. During his internship at WPIX-TV in New York, Evan was offered his first reporter job at KATC, the ABC affiliate in Lafayette.
There he got his first dose of Louisiana Hurricanes. Barley into the second week on the job, Evan covered Hurricanes Gustav and Ike in the Lafayette area. Now, after reporting in Cajun Country for a little over a year, he’s back in New Orleans.
Evan, born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas is a 2007 Press Club of New Orleans scholarship recipient, and an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
In his spare time, when Evan is not chasing down a story, he is enjoying what New Orleans has to offer, from the food, rich culture, and the people.
