New Orleans - The Consumer Product Safety Commission has launched a new Drywall Information Center to help homeowners keep track of the agency's investigation into toxic drywall manufactured in China.

The center also has information that can help consumers determine if their homes were built with the contaminated product and can take their complaints.

The CPSC has received 365 reports from 18 states, including Louisiana, of houses that may contain the drywall. The building material emits sulfur gas that many believe is making people sick, and corroding electrical fixtures and wiring.

Hi,my name is jim davidson with quality design and construction. we have been working with a company called abshield in which we will will be partners.we have developed a system to neutralize the toxic off load of gas from the chinese drywall. very simple proceedure call me 504-616-5468. we are working with gov't for approval. have done one house in fla. all tests were good. would love to get word out and start helping. just a brief insight. we leave drywall in place and use high pressure to inject powder into walls. this turns to gas and neutralizes gas. we then seal holes and repaint two coats of sealer and prime walls. this leaves house ready to re paint and move in.jd1arh@aol.com

I have this toxic drywall as well. Mine as not been tested yet by the toxicologist. We are sickened by this. Like most of us with this disaster, we cannot move out, nor can we afford to repair our home. I believe the Knauf company and our own government is responsible for this. Do we not have consumer protection? Why was this trash allowed into our country? We had our home built in 2006 in Livingston Parish, I know no one else here with this problem. Boy am I lucky. Our homeowners insurance has refused to help us, which by the way, why do we pay this, they always have a "clause" to hide behind. The government must get involved, we have no help from anyone, insurance, fema, or road home money. We need help, and we need it now. We are facing losing everything we own. Where do we go, what do we do???
