New Orleans - U.S. Senator David Vitter has now joined Florida leaders in calling for a federal investigation of suspected problems with tainted Chinese drywall.
Vitter announced that move after he was approached by St. Bernard residents who believe they are having problems at a Chalmette town hall meeting.
Scott Belsom has moved his family away from his newly rebuilt Meraux home, because his copper pipes and wires have turned black, and there is the smell of sulphur in his home.
Belsom is complaining that there seems to be a lack of information on the issue. He is talking to attorneys about suing, something he says he has never done.
St. Bernard Parish President Craig Taffaro is also talking about Chinese drywall. Like thousands of St. Bernard residents, Taffaro just rebuilt his Katrina-flooded home. He says he is having it tested, as a precaution.
