The Jefferson Award is presented to ordinary people who do extraordinary things without expectation of recognition or reward. By honoring the recipients, it is the goal of the Jefferson Awards to inspire others to become involved in community and public service.
FOX 8 is proud to be the Jefferson Award's local television affiliate. We are looking for local citizens to honor with this great achievement in community spirit. Do you know someone who has quietly waged war against poverty, helped feed the hungry, or mentored a child in need? Then
nominate that person for the Jefferson Award.
An editorial committee will help choose one winner each month who will be featured on the FOX 8 News at 5. Each year, one of those 12 winners will be flown to Washington D.C. to represent New Orleans for a chance to win the national Jefferson Award.
