I am writing in regards of the case of State of Louisiana vs Van Leonard. Mr. Leonard has been wrongly accurse; convicted and found guilty of first-degree murder in June 2004 .He has been sentence to life without benefit. Mr. Leonard should not have been found guilty with nothing but circumstantial evidence. Lay an unspent bullet found in his home and contradicting stories from one witness who was only a witness to where the victim said he was going in Mr. Leonard vehicle, but he never said he was going to be in the presence of Mr. Leonard. Mr. Leonard’s attorney Edward Awakens has not been helpful in the case of his client and only seems to want monetary benefit and has ceased being concerned about the welfare of his client. I am asking that you please look into his case. I know that you have plenty of other case and I pray that you find compassion for Mr. Leonard also. Yours Truly, Katrina Franklin
