I am a recent graduate of the LSU School of Library and Information Science, and I helped a bit on the LGL database this past summer as a field experience at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center's Health Science Library. The two librarians there, Melissa Fahrmann and Wendy Pesch, were the prime movers in getting the LGL database running. The Go Local project is intended to help the average person find the best contacts for health services without having to search through many pages on the open Web. It will be a great tool for librarians to help connect people with the best health information possible. I am actually posting to be sure the public knows that the link in the article above is the actual URL but there is an easy-to-remember link that redirects to the above one: http://www.medlineplus.gov/lagolocal MedlinePlus.gov is the National Library of Medicine's public portal for general health information so all the public need to remember is that name and to add "lagolocal" behind it. Please pass on the easy link to all your friends and family! Luis F. Interiano, MLIS health science libraries LSU-SLIS 2009 linter2@tigers.lsu.edu
