Slidell – Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for aggravated rape after he admitted to investigators he had sex with a 12-year-old Pearl River area girl, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Arturo Govea was arrested Tuesday and booked into St. Tammany Parish jail.
The victim and her two sisters were reported missing on Oct. 10 after failing to return home. Deputies learned a friend of one of the girls brought the three to Govea’s address. Investigators found the girls there and returned them home.
Several men living at the address were questioned, during which Govea admitted to detectives he had sex with the girl while she was with him, police said.
Police also determined that Elias Hernandez, who also lives at the address, had sex with the victim’s 14-year-old sister. Hernandez was arrested and booked with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Investigators say the third sister was not involved in illegal sexual activity.
Govea remain in jail and is being held without bond. Hernandez is being held on a $50,000 bond.
