Pearl River – A 30-year-old man was killed in a mobile home fire early Wednesday morning near Pearl River, Police Chief Bennie Raynor said.
Fire officials received a call around 1 a.m. about a trailer fire in the 65000 block of Hayes Street. They found James Hammond dead inside the 18-foot camper style trailer.
Hammond owned the trailer, but his mother owned the property it sat on. The cause of the fire is unknown and still under investigation.
