Emile H. from Metairie writes: "My BlackBerry's web browser leaves a lot to be desired. Most web pages are either too large to load or have script errors. How can I fix this?"

ANSWER: Try downloading another mobile browser. Popular free choices are Opera Mini and the BOLT Browser by Bitstream Inc. Both are improvements over the standard BlackBerry browser, but the BOLT Browser is my favorite. It's fast, renders pages fully, allows you to view video from YouTube, Facebook and other social media sites, permits subscribing to RSS feeds, facilitates secure online shopping and more. You can even make it your default BlackBerry browser. For more information, visit BoltBrowser.com.

Kenneth J. from Slidell asks: "I'm pretty handy, but not when it comes to computers. Where can I go to learn how to configure a wireless router or troubleshoot computer problems. Your program is helpful, but I need more."

ANSWER: For a do-it-yourselfer, YouTube offers a weath of information on a variety of PC maintenance topics, and the Web itself offers an endless assortment of free tutorials and PC self-help guides.

Another option is to join a computer club. For a few dollars a year in dues, you will tap into a great wealth of knowledge and meet some fine folks. There are several great clubs in the area:

I'm also happy to report that the Chalmette Computer Users Group (CCUGPC), a club founded on the idea of "users helping users," is also on the road to recovery. Most clubs meet at least once a month, and all welcome guests, so you can see what goes on, without having to join.
