New Orleans – New Orleans native Robert Pack has been named an assistant coach for the New Orleans Hornets. The team made the announcement Thursday morning.
Pack played 13 seasons as a point guard in the NBA. He coached with the NBA Developmental League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers last season. The Vipers were 21-29.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to coach in the NBA,” Pack said. “It’s always been my dream and to have the chance to do so in my hometown is something I’m really grateful for. I’m really excited for the season to start and I just have to thank Coach Scott for such a great opportunity.”
Pack played for seven NBA teams during his 13 seasons in the league. He played 28 games for the Hornets during the 2002-2003 season.
