LSU and Tulane will not continue their series after this season (FOX 8 News)

New Orleans – Tulane University Director of Athletics Rick Dickson announced today that both Tulane and LSU have mutually agreed to discontinue the football series following the 2009 season and the two teams will play one more game in New Orleans at a future date.

Tulane and LSU will square off in the 98th meeting on Oct. 31 at Tiger Stadium.  This season’s contest is the fourth in a 10-game series signed between the schools in 2005.  The teams will play the third game in Baton Rouge, while the Tigers visited the Crescent City in 2007.

The Tulane-LSU series dates back to 1893, the first year of varsity football for both schools.
