New Orleans - Ever since Hurricane Katrina, people have asked if the metro area has protection with the current levee system. One year ago, Chief Meteorologist Bob Breck, along with H.J. Bosworth of Levees.org, went up in a helicopter to check on what has been done by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This hurricane season they went up again.

Several projects are in remote areas, and not close to major roads. A person really needs to get up above the topography of the region to get a better view.

Bob Breck recently saw firsthand, the levees, floodgates and floodwalls in southeast Louisiana are much better than before Katrina. However, some key projects remain incomplete.
