Your Weather Authority Forecast for Thursday, February 9th, 2012

Normal (N.O. Int'l):

High: 64 Low: 47

Record (N.O. Int'l):

High: 82 (1957) Low: 26 (1971)

Record (Audubon Park):

High: 84 (1932) Low: 19 (1933)

Forecast Discussion:

A weak cold front will push through keeping the seasonal temperatures around even taking highs down a degree or two during the day on Thursday.  Very little Gulf moisture managed to return to the area this week so rain chances will remain slim.  Dewpoints are dropping so Thursday morning temperatures will be a bit cooler as well.  The subtropical jet stream maintains its southwest flow over the Gulf coast keeping the clouds around.  We should get a bit chillier this weekend, but the coldest weather appears to stay mostly north and east.

Wednesday Night: Some Clouds.  Low: s 45, n 37.

Thursday: Partly Sunny, Cool! High: 62.

Thursday Night: A Bit Cooler. Low: s 45, n 34.

Friday: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Some Showers Possible Late. High: 64. Low: s 44, n 36.

Saturday: Partly Sunny. High: 62. Low: s 44, n 36.

Sunday: More Clouds.  Breezy.  High: 59. Low: s 51, n 43.

Monday: Partly Cloudy.  Warmer.  Showers Possible Late.  High: 67. Low: s 58, n 55.

I WISH THE MEDIA WOULD QUIT SENSATIONALIZING THE WEATHER JUST TO GET VIEWERS TO KEEP WATCHING. DITTO FOR THE WEATHER CHANNEL. RADAR DOES NOT LIE. JUST PULL UP THE RADAR AND SEE WHAT'S COMING YOUR WAY. TOO MUCH "GLOOM & DOOM" IN YOUR FORECASTS!!!!! AFTER YOU CRY "WOLF" TOO MANY TIMES, A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE IN HARM'S WAY AND END UP INJURED OR DEAD!!!!!!!!!!
