Matthew Perry turned down the chance to resurrect his onscreen romance with his former Friends co-star Courteney Cox on her new show Cougar Town.

The pair played a couple on the long-running sitcom, which aired for the last time in 2004, and Cox had so much fun playing Perry's partner on TV, she turned to him while casting her new comedy, which she also produces.

But Perry, 40, said no.

The 45-year-old actress tells Us Weekly magazine, "I did ask Matthew if he'd play my boyfriend on the show. He thought it was a little much after Chandler and Monica."
