Any information you might need about your car's tires can usually be found on the sidewalls. You'll find specifics such as the size, manufacturer and model, load rating, air pressure requirements, and date of manufacture. Tire makers use metric measurements to size tires. A tire size of p-one-fifty-five eighty-r-thirteen can be explained like this. P means passenger tire, 155 is the width in millimeters, 80 is a ratio of height to width, R means radial and 13 is a measurement of the diameter of the wheel in inches. The tires on your car should always be of the type recommended by your car's manufacturer. Contact your local tire store for more information on tire sidewalls.
