Hammond - Tangipahoa Sheriff's deputies arrested 21 year old Victoria Gant of Amite and booked her with attempted first degree murder.
Shortly after midnight on Thursday, deputies say they were dispatched to North Oaks Medical Center in reference to a stabbing. According to investigators, the female victim said Gant stabbed her twice in the shoulder.
Here's what deputies say happened: Gant arrived at the victim's boyfriend's apartment and wanted to fight. The victim told Gant she was six months pregnant and didn't want any trouble. Gant pulled out a knife, hit the victim in the head and stabbed her twice. However, a spokesperson with the sheriff's office says the victim was not pregnant at the time of the stabbing.
Tangipahoa Sheriff's deputies arrested Gant without incident.
