New Orleans - On October 17, at the U.S. Prime Steakhouse, Renaldo Grimball says he was doing prep work in the kitchen for the dinner crowd. Then, he took a bathroom break.
"So when I came back from the bathroom, the manager said 'you been smoking slim?"
Grimball told the manager no. He said the manager responded, "You smell like weed."
Grimball says the manager appeared to be in a joking mood saying, "I can prove to you right now you been smoking."
He says the manager called a police friend from the bar. Officer Sean West, a two year veteran with the NOPD, was off duty that night.
"That's when the friend cop came in the kitchen and pulled out his nine millimeter pistol and pointed it to my head," Grimball said.
Grimball claims the taunting went on for a few minutes, while other employees in the kitchen watched. Timothy Beeson was the kitchen manager that night.
"Nobody could believe what was going on!" Beeson recounted. "They called people in there that were walking by to see Slim getting the gun put in back of his head and frisked on the cooler."
Grimball filed a police complaint against West. A police spokesman tells FOX 8 the NOPD Public Intergrity Bureau is investigating. He says because of some conflicting stories from witnesses, West is still patrolling.
FOX 8 caught up with Chief Warren Riley several days ago and asked him about the allegations.
"I can tell you if it happened and that's accurate there are going to be some consequences." he said.
Grimball says the the man who allegedly pulled a gun on him gave him an apology about 20 minutes later. Grimball said he thought his life was in jeopardy.
