Jefferson - It took Jefferson Parish Deputies less than 24 hours to investigate a complaint and then arrest and terminate one of their own.
Investigators say 2nd District Patrol Officer Brett Casimir made a traffic stop around 4am at the intersection of Manhattan and Harvey Boulevard. Three people were in the car, the 22 year old driver and two other women.
Sheriff Newell Normand says the officer arrested the driver for an outstanding warrant and let the other two females go free.
He says the officer put the woman in the back of his patrol unit and drove her to the 1500 block of Lapalco where he began to negotiate with the alleged victim.
Normand says, "Officer Casimir told the victim, that he would release her if she would perform a sex act on him."
Investigators say after the incident, the officer drove the woman home and dropped her off. Hours later, a relative called 911 and told an operator what had happened.
During the investigation, deputies say they found physical evidence on the scene and when they questioned Officer Casimir, they say he confessed.
Casimir is being booked with aggravated rape and abuse of office.
Casimir joined the Department in September of 2007 and had worked in a two man unit he started patrolling alone in April of this year.
