New Orleans - An attorney for victims of tainted Chinese drywall calls the speed of U.S. District Judge Eldon Fallon's trial schedule a galactic rocket docket.

The judge said Thursday he is determined the first trials on the tainted wall board will begin in January and continue through March.

Dozens of attorneys from both sides gathered at federal court for a status hearing. Plaintiffs are asking for reams of discovery material, and defense attorneys are working on the judge's strict timetable to get it.

Fallon held Chinese company Taishan Gypsum in default for not responding to one of the class action suits. It was filed by a homebuilding company that works out of Alabama and Florida.

The next status hearing is set for October 15th.
