THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — A Thibodaux man who was free on bond while awaiting trial on a child molestation charge has been arrested on burglary and attempted rape charges.
Police say the man was awaiting trial on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and aggravated burglary stemming from a Feb. 4 incident involving an 11-year-old girl. On Friday, he was arrested hours after someone allegedly broke into a Lafourche Parish home and tried to rape a 17-year-old girl.
Thirty-year-old Alex Pharagood was booked with two counts of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and attempted forcible rape. He was being held at the Lafourche Parish jail Monday with bond set at $310,000.
