Arabi - A man's body was found floating in a drainage canal in Arabi Thursday morning, police say.
A spokesman with the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office says the man, possibly in his 30's, was fully clothed but had no identification on him. The man also showed no signs of trauma or violence to his body.
Detectives have been trying to identify the man, showing his photo at businesses in the area and places catering to Hispanic workers. No one has reported knowing him.
Attempts will also be made to fingerprint the body to determine identity.
Chief Deputy Sheriff James Pohlmann said, "this is an unclassified death and may or may not involve a crime."
Police say someone washing their vehicle at a car wash next to the canal reported seeing what appeared to be a body about 10am.
