New Orleans - Major Bob Bardy, commander of NOPD's 6th District, was acknowledged before the New Orleans council Thursday for a recent award on innovative police work in Central City. Council members thanked him for his outreach to community to build relationships between neighborhoods and police.

As a resident of Central City, I find it totally offensive for the news media & the City Council to broadcast this false image of NOPD/Central City residents on this big "all get along" charade, which is so far from the truth. There is only ONE organization, which meets in the 6th District that have a relationship with NOPD (Central City Come-Back Committee) This group DO NOT represent the entire Central City, and this should be made known to the city. Barbara Lacen-Keller is behind this acknowledging Major Bardy, just like she was behind the Nicola Cotton fiasco!
