The historic celebration started, before the game clock hit zero.
"We came right after they won. We saw them win and then we saw Bourbon St. on the TV and then we came down," said Claire Johnson, Saints fan.
"It's one of those once in a life time things that you can't miss out on. It's like, where were you on this day," said Saints fan Randall Wilbanks.
"We said we have to be down there, so we drove," said Johnson.
They drove for five hours, from Oxford, Mississippi, and in true New Orleans fashion, the party lasted until the early morning.
"This is what you believe in when you're a little kid and you grow up, you know what I'm saying? You're a little kid, that's all you look forward to, you don't look forward to Christmas or anything, you look forward to the Saints winning the Super Bowl," exclaimed Chaz Quillin, one of many Saints fans who feel that way.
"It's a magical experience, I can't think of anywhere else to be right now," said fan Kevin Oakes.
Meanwhile, as Saints fans continued to celebrate this historic Super Bowl victory in the French Quarter, people were lined up at the Times Picayune's distribution center waiting to get their hands on a piece of Saints history.
"I want it first, I want it in my house, I want it for each of my kids too," said Debbie Reily as she waited patiently for her paper.
Reily says she is still pinching herself.
"Waited a long time for this, you're a life long resident, it's something you still can't believe," said Reily.
The unbelieveable win will be relieved for a long time for Dapne Haley, after more than four decades of frustration.
"I didn't think this would happen in my lifetime, the Saints winning the Super Bowl," Haley said.
The victory is a prayer answered, and a dream come true, for a team fans say aren't the "Aint's" anymore.
