PINEVILLE, La. (AP) — A Pineville child care center whose license to operate was revoked by the state last week is appealing the decision.

Cindy Cannon, director of Miss Cindy's Day Care LLC, declined to comment on the issue Tuesday, telling the Alexandria Daily Town Talk she would rather wait until a final decision on her appeal is made.

Miss Cindy's Day Care was among 12 Louisiana day-care centers that, according to the Department of Social Services, had a series of deficiencies that raised child safety concerns.

Some of the violations include issues on its yearly inspections and daily logs, child/staff ratio, employee training, equipment repair, electrical outlet safety guidelines, crib minimum space and cleanliness issues.
