MONROE, La. (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a 32-year-old Metairie woman was sentenced to 30 years in prison for filing about $80,000 in false disaster aid claims.
U.S. District Judge Robert G. James sentenced Christena Bradley on Thursday and ordered her to repay about $72,000 to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
She pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud in June. She was accused of fraudulently claiming for emergency assistance, rental assistance and loss of personal property after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
U.S. Attorney Donald W. Washington said she used false addresses and stolen identities.
