The New Orleans Hornets have signed guard
Jason Hart to a 10-day contract to help address their backcourt needs.
Point guard Chris Paul is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks
after undergoing surgery on Thursday and late last month the Hornets traded
guards Devin Brown and Bobby Brown in separate deals, leaving only Darren
Collison, Marcus Thornton and Morris Peterson in the backcourt.
"Jason is a solid veteran basketball player that will add depth to our
backcourt," said Hornets general manager and head coach Jeff Bower.
Hart has averaged 4.8 points and 2.3 assists in 337 games with Milwaukee, San
Antonio, Charlotte, Sacramento, the Los Angeles Clippers, Utah, Denver and
Minnesota.
The well-traveled Syracuse alum was recently traded from the Timberwolves to
the Phoenix on December 29, 2009 for Alando Tucker, a second-round pick in
2010 and cash before being waived by the Suns.
